The Endeavor for New Futures through Education (TEN FE) is a non-profit organization that was established in 2012 to help poor and underprivileged children in Guatemala attend school. The name, The Endeavor for New Futures through Education, adequately describes our mission--to provide a second (or sometimes a first) chance for these children to receive an education. We believe that with an education, these children will not only have a better life, but they will also have a more positive impact on their communities and on future generations to come. We aim to help these children believe that with support, determination, hard work, and faith, they too can experience a more fruitful, meaningful, benevolent future.
The acronym, TEN FE, also adequately describes our mission--because 'Ten Fe' in Spanish means 'Have faith' in English. We believe that if these children see that other people not only support, but value their lives, their education and their futures, that they too will begin to have faith and believe in themselves. We see this as a win-win situation--those on the giving end will get to witness over time these children learning, acquiring skills, and achieving goals while also having their basic needs met. This will enable them to have the opportunity to move beyond the lives of poverty that they currently know and to contribute to their families and communities in the future.
We believe that these children will grow up and replicate the generous deeds that have been done onto them. With more people doing random acts of kindness, we all benefit by living in a kinder, friendlier, safer world. Help children believe in a better future for all of us.
